Great to hear that a local show at Cleadon Village Livery Yard near Sunderland put on some Standardbred/Trotter classes yesterday. In Hand and ridden classes were included and was judged by Kim Dodds.  In the ridden classes they were asked to walk and trot, and in their individual show cantering was optional.  One of the competitors, Rachel Belk said “It was lovely to have classes specifically for Standardbreds, where they weren’t marked down for ‘trotter trotting’ or pacing, and canter was optional”.  There were some lovely combinations forward including Rachel Belk’s own mare, Bambam a part bred Standardbred who went on to win her class.  Congratulations Rachel!

We hope that there can be more classes at shows for Standardbreds and if you are thinking of included Standardbred Classes, then please let us know so that we can help spread the word.
