In 2022 Lee & Kayla Morris from Herefordshire made the decision to move to America to pursue a dream of training and driving horses. They had settled in well and having built up a stable of 16 horses at Tioga Downs, things were going well. But this morning their dreams were destroyed. Their entire livelihood was lost due to aa horrific barn fire at Tioga Downs. They lost their horses and all of their racing equipment.

Our thoughts are very much with Lee & Kayla, at this very difficult and cruel time.

By now it has been reported that a man has been charged for arson, having intentionally set fire to a barn at Tioga Downs. In total, thirty horses died as a result of the fire. A Gofundme appeal has been set up to assist the horsemen and women affected by the fire, and Tioga Downs owner Jeff Gural has pledged to match up to $100,000.
