Unfortunately racing at York was abandoned due to the weather after the third race on Saturday. The races lost included the STAGBI Mares Race which has not been re-scheduled for June 29 at York.. Entries will re-open via BHRC website.
STAGBI were also disappointed to hear that racing at Amman Valley Sunday June 23 has been cancelled, the fixture also included a STAGBI Mares Race. Hopefully the date for a re-scheduled race will be updated as soon as poosible.
In the meantime the next STAGBI Mares race will be held at Tir Prince July 20 – entries via BHRC website.
However better news from Golden Valley on Sunday which hosted the third Leg of the mares Queen of the Turf series. Seven mares came to post and the race was a run-away victory for BLUE LONESOME DOVE. Driven by Gareth Price, the mare stormed away from her opponents to win by 15 lengths in a time in 2.03.2, the fastest time of the day.
BLUE LONESOME DOVE is a 7yo mare by Rogue Hall (US) out of Blue Bop A Loola / Todays Man (US) and returns to the racetrack having missed the 2023 season. Owned by Stacey Burton and trained by Hughie Burton.
